Hiya and happy update day, PSTALENT! Wow, there’s so much awesome stuff in today’s update! One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the US PlayStation Blog but is particularly relevant to what we do here at PST is Juggernaut’s new “Observer” active item. Its functionality is somewhere between the Loot Active Camera, Loot Telescope and Heavy Water Surveillance Helicopter; it can fly around, capture video and photos and has several filters (kinda like Instagram) and a built-in spotlight.
Here are some comparisons, pros, cons and notes:

Juggernaut Observer:

  • 5 furniture slots
  • Guests are able to use it
  • Flies; full range of motion
  • Flight movement/look camera sensitivity can be adjusted
  • Can be used to record or photograph your own avatar. You will not be able to move your avatar while in-game. The Observer in use will not be visible in photos or videos
  • Captures 1280×720 photos to HDD

  • Has several filters
  • Has built-in spotlight
  • When using this combined with an HD-PVR, it is possible to record HD video. Also, leaving the record option off will still give you full functionality without the watermark. Clear chat log and control menu beforehand for best results

  • 9 furniture slots
  • Guests are not able to use it

I’m gettin’ the hang of this awesome new toy! it takes some practice to do a smooth flyby video but the controls are modeled similar to the way we move around on Home already. Unlike the stationary cameras in the movie set or the telescope where its simulating a real video camera, this one just lets you free form film! The on-board light is a nice feature aswell. Filter- Meh i still highly recommend it. If we could play the videos somehow, somewhere, even on voice chat that would be perfect. BUY IT!

  3. awesome job Steph. I want to add that you can use your friends camera to film in their spaces. it’s useable by anyone in the space. Also, you can NOT speak while recording, but you can type. this item is a wonderful new toy ^.^
