CALLING ALL SUPERHEROES!
Hiya PSTALENT! I’m excited to announce that PST is forming our own team for Extra Life 2012! All proceeds go to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, where any child can be treated, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Our team goal is to raise $500 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals this year.

We’ll do this by getting friends and family to sponsor us in a 24-hour gaming marathon on October 20th. Any video games count, whether they’re on a console, computer, handheld or mobile device. Extra Life uses the honor system, so it doesn’t have to be 24 hours in a row. In fact, regular breaks are recommended. If you have a conflicting schedule on October 20th, you can make up the hours before or after. The point is just to raise money for the children’s hospitals and have FUN in the process!

Here’s how you can help:

1) Join the team, get sponsors, play games for 24 hours on/around October 20th! You can play single player games if you like, but we can also play multiplayer PS3/PSN games, social games and PS Home mini-games together!

2) Sponsor a team member! Even if you are unable to participate, you can sponsor someone else who can! (All contributions are tax deductible as well.)

Thankies! Yes, I did the same thing last year. I had it set to $100 and then when I passed it, I set it to $150. So this year I set it to $150 and since I’m almost there with a week to go, I might end up increasing it again. There are always last minute donations on the day of the marathon. Also remember that donations can be taken long after the marathon too.

Also, I know that there is a link to this blog under “Latest PST News” on the left hand side of the home page, but do you think this is big enough to include a separate link to this blog from the homepage using that ExtraLife logo image?
Yes, I can definitely re-post the HSM article I wrote of my Extra-Life experience, which included mentioning of the support I got from PST. That also just reminded me of including a link to the article in my donations page too.
I don’t have a link to the page from last year, but maybe DOD can find it in the archives. It was basically a blog page that had the Extra Life logo and then PST headshots for the 4 or 5 of us that were participating with a link to our donation page below each headshot. Then a place at the bottom to post comments just like this blog. So maybe we can create a new page like that for this year too?
I don’t remember what the page was like last year, since I was unable to participate then. Do you happen to have a link to that page in the archives or something? Assuming it’s okay with DOD, I wouldn’t mind linking that too.
Also, feel free to re-post the article you wrote for HSM last year about your Extra Life experience! I’m sure some people who haven’t participated in it yet would love to hear what it’s like!
Also, for those that have already joined a team and cannot join the PST team, but would still like support from other PST members, can we have a page with links to their donation pages like we did last year?
