A) Installing - top

First of all upload the 'radykal-fancy-gallery' folder or zip to your wordpress plugin directory and activate it in your Plugins page. If you do not know how do that - just google it. There are a many tutorials which explain how this can be done.

After that a new menu (Fancy Gallery) will appear in your WordPress Admin.

C) Creating galleries - top

First of all you have to create a gallery. You can create unlimited of galleries. So go to 'Manage galleries' and enter there a title for the gallery. Then click 'Add gallery'. After that you can create albums for it.


D) Creating albums - top

Click 'Manage albums' in the dropdown menu of Fancy Gallery. Then select a gallery, where you would like to add an album. Enter a title for the album and click 'Add album'.

You can change the order by dragging the album elements. When you are done with ordering the albums, click 'Save Changes'.


E) Upload media to an album - top

When you have created a gallery with album(s), you can upload different types of media (images, videos, sites) to the album.

First of all select an album. Would you like to upload images, use the image uploader. It allows to upload multiple images at once. You can only upload images with a maximum size of 1MB! You don“t need to create thumbnails by yourself, Fancy Gallery does it automatically!

Would you like to add another media, e.g. a youtube video, upload a thumbnail by clicking the image or enter URL of the thumbnail into the input field. Then enter the youtube URL into the input field and click 'Add media'.

You can change the order of the medias by dragging the elements in the media list! When you are done with the ordering, click 'Save Changes'.


F) Adding a gallery into a post/page - top

When you write a post or page, you will find a new meta box at the right side (Fancy Gallery). The Editor needs to be in the Visual mode, NOT in the HTML mode! Just select a gallery and click 'Add gallery'. Now update your post/page and you should see your gallery.


G) Using the widget - top

The widget allows to create a list of all albums from a gallery. Before using the widget you have to add the gallery in a published post or page. Then go to Appearance in your admin and click on 'Widgets'. Drag the Fancy Gallery widget into your available widget areas. Last select a gallery and save it. Now you should see a list of all albums and each album has his own URL.


H) Options - top

You can customize your galleries in the Options menu. There you can adjust the skin of fancy gallery and some prettyphoto options.


I) Generator - top

Would you like to use Fancy Gallery on different websites? No problem! Therefore you can use the generator which gives you the possibility to use wordpress as CMS for your gallery.

So first of all select a gallery. Then adjust the options for the gallery, when you are done, just click 'Generate code'. At the next page you will get the HTML code for the head and body tag.

J) Additional information - top

Shadows and arrows

You find some other arrows skins and shadows in the asset folder.
Would you like to change the arrows, just select one of the available skins or create your own and go to radykal-fancy-gallery/images/fancygallery folder and replace arrows_sprite.png.
You change the shadow image via the options in the admin. Just use there the uploader and browse to the shadows folder.

Deeplinking

When using deeplinking, you should set the 'Imagers per Page' value to 0, so all images of an album will be loaded an once.

Deactivating the plugin

When you deactivate the plugin all database tables and fields that belongs to the plugin will be deleted. The content folder (fancygallery in wp-content) will be also deleted.


K) Upgrading - top

Upgrading from v1.0 to v1.1

Just replace the radykal-fancy-gallery folder with your old one or upload the radykal-fancy-gallery.zip using the Upload form (Plugins -> Add New) in your wp-admin.

Upgrading to v1.2

This update needs a complete new installtion, that means all of your galleries will be deleted. Deactivate the plugin, replace the whole radykal-fancy-gallery directory in your plugins directory and activate it again.

Upgrading to v1.2.1

To run the upgrade successfully, you need version 1.2 installed. If you do not have it, you have to deactivate the plugin and install it again, this means also you have to set up your galleries from beginning. If you have version 1.2, just replace the radykal-fancy-gallery folder with yours in the plugin directory.
